I'm trying to come up with a sustainable option for our wedding flower arrangements. I want something with a full blossom, that is native to Florida and grows in abundance. There's also this strange instinct in me that just wants to go out and pick our flowers the day of. It just seems incredibly authentic (and affordable). Crape Myrtles are all over the place in Florida, blooming like crazy!! I must admit I'm growing quite fond of them. I think they would make for the sweetest fluffy wedding arrangements. What do you think?

Deetjen's Big Sur Inn. Last summer Tim and I briefly drove through Big Sur (via PCH) on our way back down to LA from San Fran. We were in aww! Big Sur was one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen, ever! So it's no surprise that we are loving this cozy, eclectic, historic inn right in the heart of Big Sur. At around $200 per cottage per night it's extremely affordable.
Most rooms and cottages have their own fireplace or wood burning stove, which will surely come in handy if we honeymoon in the fall or winter. The inn dates back to the 1930's and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Surely a place to see!
I thought I would share my new favorite song, French Navy by Camera Obscura, mainly because I will be listening to it all weekend. It just gets me in such a happy, fun mood! I hope you all had a wonderful Friday and are off to a great weekend!
