Hi, I'm MARY, a full-time graphic designer and freelance floral and interior stylist based in Winter Park, Florida. Jennifer Koehler's 200 sq ft apartment

My lease is up June 1st and I'm looking for a new place in downtown Winter Park. I keep coming back to this apartment from an old issue of Domino for inspiration, not because of the brown lattice sheets, but because of Jennifer's ability to make it look her own despite all the 'standardness' (i.e. white walls, formica kitchen counters). This time around, I want something small, with character, design flexibility and a super efficient floor plan. I want it to feel my own even though it will be a rented space - something I haven't had at the places I've been for the past couple of years.

Photographs by Paul Costello. Styling by Allison Tick. Scanned by me from Domino Magazine June/July 2008.

So pretty. I love the curtain entry into the bedroom. Thanks for sharing!

How lovely! It's such a challenge to find a way to make a rented space your own. I've been living in London the past year and it's been quite a challenge to really make the space feel like "home" despite its shoebox size and lack of good lighting! This post gives me a touch of hope for my next place :-)

good luck finding a new place to call home. these photos are great inspirations. i live in an apartment in beijing right now and i find that having things that represent your travels make your home special. also keeping it clean and simple yet totally chic :)

that is a pretty pretty apartment, you'd definitely need light colors for a space that small, it would be so pretty though!

This is my favorite story from Domino. I have these tears kept safe....love them!
