MY WORK
ELSEWHERE

Hi I'm MARY, a floral designer, gardener and interior stylist based in Winter Park, Florida. My husband Tim (the city's Sustainability Officer) and I are currently working on our first major home renovation to our 1970's cottage in the heart of Winter Park. Sustainable living and simplicity are the driving forces behind our passions and design philosophies.

You can see my flower work at marymaslow.com and follow my renovation and gardening adventures on instagram, @marystonecypher.

lulie wallace paintings

Absolutely loving these flower paintings by Lulie Wallace. So cheery! Might have to save a bit before I can buy one though. Top painting available, here and bottom, here.

local: honest fare (and la empanada!)

Have you heard of the food blog, Honest Fare? It's a really great, well designed, recipe blog run by fellow Winter Park-ian Gabrielle. She's also is a professional cook + part owner of the La Empanada food truck (one of my favorites). Definitely check it out when you get some time!

Summer Markets

I can't stop gushing over these images from Old Faithful Shop's summer market last year. I have sort of an obsession with well styled/designed necessities (think general stores, mini grocers, dish soap labels, etc), they just make life that much better.

These pics have also got me aching to volunteer re-design our local co-op's storefront (& interior), agh how fun would that be?!

Here are some other really cool corner stores/markets I've seen lately:

Updates + A Sneak Peek

So, kind of a lot has gone on in the past year and half. Some exciting, some exhausting and a great deal routine. I feel like I left a little something behind when I put blogging on pause-ish (in order to maintain my sanity), but now that I've finally gotten settled and have some extra time, I'd like to loop Olivet in.

Here's the extremely abbreviated version of what I've we've been up to -

Of course much more went on in between, but that's the sum of it all. And now that I don't have to go to the laundry mat, or hand-wash all of my dishes, or stay up late waiting for someone to come home safely from class, I can actually, for the first time in... wait for it, years (ick!) get back to Olivet... Starting with a sneak peek of our super tiny, pre-house, old apartment. Hope you enjoy... More to come. :)

Almond Linus Summer Bike

As a Florida girl, who grew up on the coast, I can't think of any better way to get your self (and surf board!) to the beach than one of these. The "Summer Bicycle",  a joint creation by Almond Surf Boards and Linus Bikes, looks like the perfect mode of summer transport... And at around $700 it's hard to see why anyone wouldn't want to trade in their car keys and commute with one of these all summer long! Available, here.
